Description
Megacorp Haunted Merkin Industries©, LLC, LL Bean, LL Kool J, has announced the Final Grand Opening of its Haunted Myassa outlet.
Haunted Myassa was to be opened in three stages:
1. Ghosts of Myassa Past;
2. Ghosts of Myassa Present; and
3. Ghosts of Myassa TBA.
Haunted Merkins© planned to open Ghosts of Myassa Past on October 1 but (according to the chief contractor) it was too overwhelmingly cheesy and fragile due to incompetent sub-contractors. Who could have predicted that it would be in such demand that eight people would show up on Grand Opening Day? Only two customers got in the door and only one of them has been heard from somewhere unidentifiable inside the exhibit. All of the remaining six shortly disappeared as well.
The contractor tried to fire all of the subcontractors he could find but none of them spoke English so they nodded and smiled. Then they went back to not working. The Second Grand Opening was promised for October 31, plus the next phase, Ghosts of Myassa Present, would open at the same time.
October 31st, three more customers were sucked into the exhibits and no traces of them have been found. By this time, the customer who had been heard somewhere inside the exhibit had broken off communications. Haunted Merkins announced that the business will abso-loot-ly, posi-toot-ly, gar-on-teed, cross their hearts and hope to die stick a needle in their eye, open by December 1. No year was specified.
There was also an unexpected and unexplained phenomenon. Three people, unrecognizable, dazed and incoherent, were found staggering out of the exhibit, unable to account for the last four years of their lives. But then, who IS able to account for the last four years of their lives? I know I can't. The fact that I don't remember it is proof positive that it happened, right? RIGHT??
December 1st was the Final Grand Opening ceremony, Ghosts of Myassa TBA. This time four unsuspecting customers entered the exhibits. Minutes later, they reappeared at the entrance, claiming they couldn't remember the last five years of their lives. Great. It's inflationary. And nobody has found their way out the exit doors yet.
(Story may be continued. Possibly in varying levels of incomprehensibility. No, make that probably. Oh, hell. Guaranteed.)

what a spooky story! so well told but I, for one, do not intend to show up at a grand opening. and, I do remember the past four or five years, what this country has had to go through has been pure hell. I just hope we can survive. L/F/X/Pin

Jim Williams replied:
Oooh. I can hear her saying: "Young pig! Do you want strangers to think that you were born in a HOUSE??" Thanks, Piggy.
Claudia Mottram
Amazing image! l/f :)
Jim Williams replied:
Yeah, I thought so too. It had some stiff competition that needs to be put to good use too. Thanks, Claudia.
Lynda Lehmann
Great, haunting image, Jim and the text on the image adds a layer of intrigue. As does your story.... F/L
Jim Williams replied:
Thanks, Lynda, I'm glad you enjoyed the story. I had never noticed the script on the photo until you mentioned it. It does add another dash of ambiguous weirdness. I love these inexplicable old b&w photos. "Still there..."
Bunny Clarke
Wow! Fabulous capture and work.
Jim Williams replied:
Thank you, Bunny. The photo is an ancient b&w that I found online. They made pictures that would be difficult to do today, even with photo editors. I hope to show you more.
Miroslava Jurcik
Well that took them while to open, great spooky picture ! l/f
Jim Williams replied:
Yeah, we don't move real fast here in Myassa. I'm glad you like the picture. I had several other photos that would work but this seemed the best. Thanks, Miroslava.
